Red Hook, Brooklyn, New York
This is the third and last image I put into the CAL juried show. This building, if it could talk, could tell stories; and now it just sits there on the corner, a reminder of why Red Hook in the 1990s was named by LIFE magazine as having the "worst" neighborhoods in the U.S. and being the "crack capital of America."

The Flight of Birds
This is another one of the photographs I entered into the CAL juried show. It is for inspiration. I think a lot of people associate the flight of birds with inspiration; the freedom and gracefulness they have when in flight. They sit in trees and on land but are never caged or bound by them.

Slowly Stripped Away
One of the images I entered into the Coastal Arts League's 2011 Michael H. Kellicutt International Juried Photo Show: Through a Lens– Inspiration or Desperation. This is one for desperation. I feel like if the tree could feel, it would be in great despair being stripped away; its life taken away extremely slowly so as to feel every pain. Taken at Maplewood State Park near Pelican Rapids, Minn.

Down Under The Manhattan Bridge Overpass
This is through a window of an old brick warehouse that was used in shipping. You can see the underside of the Manhattan bridge at the top of the window. Buildings are in the sliver of background. I wanted to convey extreme depth and layering of architecture and shapes.
Three Doors
These doors were leaning against an old farm shed on my grandmother's land. I loved the repetition of them and applied the rule of thirds to compose it.
